Pokémon streamer's roguelite monster-collector Kickstarter exceeds its target
Wonderful Neoran Valley, a roguelite monster-collector, hit its funding target in ten minutes and has since raised over $800,000, more than seven times its original goal.
The run-based game leans into JRPG mechanics with a touch of creepypasta horror. Neoran creatures include a pear-shaped character called Pero, a cosmic owl named Owrion, a blood-drunk vampire bat called Chugaloo, and a Venus flytrap lady called Noctivora; each has its own personality and must be persuaded to join via RPG dialogue trees.
Stretch goals unlocked so far include an endless mode, a Switch 2 port, additional neoran, extra questlines, and the ability for the studio to go full-time independent without needing a publisher.
The campaign's rapid success has been linked to Nara Studio's creative director, a popular Italian Pokémon streamer called Cydonia, and the Kickstarter remains live with 18 days left.
