Pokémon TCG Pocket adds Mega Shine booster pack in March
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will get a new booster pack, Mega Shine, on March 25. The set introduces Mega shiny Pokémon to the game for the first time, with Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar as its headline cards. Shiny Pokémon were added to the app last March and Mega Pokémon arrived in October; Mega Shine brings those two features together, promising a set loaded with rare cards.
A short reveal trailer offers a look at some of the cards players can collect. Shiny Dragonair, Ponyta, Pineco and Zorua appear in the trailer, while non-shiny cards include Phione and a new full-art Empoleon. A press release also teases new "dynamic" cards that shimmer when tilted.
The trailer doesn't hint at new tool or stadium cards, though it briefly shows a trainer card: Calem from Pokémon X and Y. Several in-game events will accompany the update: a Slowpoke-themed drop event in April, a Wonder Pick event focused on Gastly and Wigglytuff, and a Community Week that awards accessories and hourglasses for sharing and trading cards.
