Pokopia answers 30-year-old mystery about Vermillion City's builder
Behind its cutesy designs and wholesome life-sim gameplay, Pokemon Pokopia presents a strangely post-apocalyptic Kanto: dilapidated Pokemon Centers, half-finished or destroyed buildings, lonely Pokémon and a notable absence of humans after people apparently left the region.
Eagle-eyed fans noted that one area lines up with a neglected version of Vermillion City, and streamer Cecilily traced a specific builder's location in the game. A slightly worn lighthouse stands where the old man's plot would have been, and a nearby in-universe interview names the builder Kenzo, calling him the "owner of the largest building in the area." The document even mentions his old Machop, which has since evolved into a Machamp, and quotes Kenzo: "My family has dreamed of constructing a building here for generations." The discovery has been treated as a small but meaningful worldbuilding reveal that resolves a mystery fans have wondered about for decades.
Cecilily reacted, "This is literally my childhood dream... I'm so happy I could die.
