Polymarket trader ricosuave666 returns to bet on Israel‑Iran strikes
Beincrypto reports that a dormant Polymarket trader known as ricosuave666 has resurfaced after a seven-month hiatus to wager on the likelihood of Israeli strikes against Iran.
The trader has spent $8,198 on Israel-related wagers and the account shows $155,699.12 in profits, with each past Israel-related position proving successful, blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain flagged. Lookonchain said the user is betting on strikes occurring by January 31, 2026, and March 31, 2026; Polymarket’s odds put the likelihood at about 38% for January and 54% for March. The activity echoes a recent controversy in which three wallets reportedly earned more than $630,000 by betting on the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Tensions in the region provide context: BeInCrypto has reported protests in Iran after a sharp currency depreciation since late December, and the Times of Israel said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for the demonstrations while Iranian authorities accused Israel of seeking to undermine unity. Lookonchain noted the trader’s past success and asked whether it signalled insider knowledge, but there is currently no concrete evidence of insider trading, leaving the wagers open to interpretation as speculation or coincidence.
