I set fire to my PS5 and took an axe to my Switch, but I kept my controllers. I don’t often use them on PC, yet some games simply feel better with a pad, and after playing the preview and demo, Pragmata has joined that list. Director Cho Yonghee says the team “put work into the control scheme on both types of systems.

So whether it be the button, the key assignments for the keyboard itself, and the speed and sensitivity of the mouse and how that relates to the hacking controls, we've tried to make sure that it works as effectively as possible.” The game’s hacking, in particular, felt more pleasant on a controller in my playthrough — using the D-pad instead of holding a side mouse button and moving a cursor was faster and less restrictive.

The free Pragmata sketchbook demo is still available and acts like a brief tutorial, covering shooting, hacking and side abilities. It’s only about 20 minutes long, so you can easily run through it with a controller and then again with keyboard and mouse to see which setup suits you.
