Predator: Badlands began streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally yesterday. After one full day on the platforms, it ranked as the most popular movie worldwide on both services.

Dan Trachtenberg directed the sequel and co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick Aison. The film, which reached theaters last year, stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi.

Critics gave Badlands an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes while audiences rated it 95%, and it grossed $184 million at the box office against a $105 million budget. The movie also spent several weeks on VOD platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV before landing on Hulu and Disney+.

The story follows Dek, who watches his father kill his brother and then leaves for a distant planet to claim his prey and complete his Yautja journey. Along the way he encounters the cyborg Thia and the animal Bud, and grows into a more formidable predator by accepting help from allies.
