Previewing policy at Consensus Hong Kong 2026
CoinDesk is hosting its second annual Consensus Hong Kong conference on Feb. 8, 2026, with policymakers and industry participants in town. The event will kick off Wednesday with a speech from Hong Kong Chief Executive John KC Lee. Day one features Financial Secretary Paul Chan and Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive Julia Leung, with panels on real-world asset tokenization, stablecoins, evolving payment systems and exchange-traded funds.
Regulators and politicians from around the world will take part, and sessions will also cover privacy, artificial intelligence, decentralized finance and trading behaviors. The conference coincides with Capitol Hill hearings: SEC Chair Paul Atkins will testify before the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Banking Committee this week.
While the oversight hearings are broad, expect crypto and Atkins' efforts to develop rulemakings around the sector to come up.
