Prime Video’s Most Dad-Coded Action Hit Is Cleaning Up the Charts
Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista headline The Wrecking Crew, which follows the sons of Walter Hale—Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista)—as they return to Hawaii after their father’s death and separately investigate what happened before being forced to reconcile in order to solve the case.
Jacob Batalon also appears, and Stephen Root plays the town detective working the murder. The film has streamed on Prime Video for just over 10 days and remains the service’s top movie, outpacing Ballerina, A Working Man, The Tank and Trap House. It holds a Certified Fresh 74% from critics and a 68% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and has drawn comparisons to Lethal Weapon for pairing two wildly different personalities on the same case.
Prime Video’s streaming charts are also led by TV fare: Fallout, starring Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell, sits atop the list over Steal, the new crime thriller led by Sophie Turner.
