Prime Video’s Nail-Biting World War II Thriller Faces a Streaming Setback
Prime Video quietly acquired Dennis Gansel's World War II thriller The Tank after a short theatrical run in Germany earlier this year. The film climbed to the top of the service's most-watched movies list for several weeks before Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista's action-comedy The Wrecking Crew took over.
FlixPatrol data shows The Tank has now disappeared from Prime Video's global chart. Over the past week the movie has been dropping off country-specific charts as new titles arrive on the platform. The Tank follows a five-man crew inside a German Tiger tank sent on a perilous mission to rescue a colleague behind enemy lines; confined together, the men confront fear, traps and a soul-transforming journey.
David Schütter leads a cast that also includes Laurence Rupp, Leonard Kunz, Sebastian Urzendowsky, Yoran Leicher, Tilman Strauß and André M. Hennicke. Gansel, known for politically and socially charged films such as Before the Fall and The Fourth State, is already moving on to a new project.
