Prime Video's Scarpetta Looks Set to Rival Reacher and Jack Ryan

Prime Video will premiere Scarpetta on March 11, 2026. The police procedural stars Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman as Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist who uses keen observational skills to solve grisly crimes. Created by Liz Sarnoff and based on Patricia Cornwell's 29-book series, the show’s first two episodes are directed by David Gordon Green.

The supporting cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis as Dorothy Farinelli, Ariana DeBose as Lucy Farinelli-Watson, Bobby Cannavale as FBI Agent Pete Moreno, and Simon Baker as former FBI profiler Benton Wesley. The trailer opens in 1990 and flashes forward, with Rosy McEwen portraying a young Kay and Amanda Righetti as a young Dorothy.

Rather than adapting one or two books per season, the series will weave elements from multiple novels into a new story.
