Prime Video's Scarpetta: Where You Recognize the Cast

Scarpetta arrives on Amazon Prime Video on March 11, 2026. Developed by Liz Sarnoff from Patricia Cornwell's bestselling novels, the crime drama received an eight-episode, single-season order with renewal tied to its performance. The title character, inspired by retired Virginia Chief Medical Examiner Marcella Farinelli Fierro, M.D., is a medical examiner who uses advanced forensic technology and travels across jurisdictions to solve complex cases.

Nicole Kidman headlines as Kay Scarpetta. She has earned an Oscar, a BAFTA, six Golden Globes and two Emmys, and brings experience playing onscreen investigators in films such as Destroyer and Secret in Their Eyes. The principal cast also features Jamie Lee Curtis as Kay’s older sister Dorothy, Ariana DeBose as Dorothy’s daughter Lucy Farinelli-Watson, Bobby Cannavale as Pete Marino—a former detective and close friend of Kay, with his son Jake portraying a younger version of the character in some scenes—and Simon Baker as FBI profiler Benton Wesley.
