People reports that Prince Harry is back in the U.K. for the next stage of his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, arriving at London’s High Court on Monday, Jan. 19 for the start of a trial expected to last nine weeks.

The Duke of Sussex is suing the publisher — which produces the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and Mail Online — over allegations of illegal information gathering; Associated Newspapers has "vigorously denied" the claims, according to the BBC. High-profile claimants including Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost are also part of the litigation. His spokesperson said Harry was "feeling confident and ready," and a source described the case as "the culmination of what has been years of litigation," saying he sees it as an injustice that needs to be righted.

Harry is expected to attend court on some of the coming days and is slated to be the first witness on Thursday, Jan. 22. His appearance coincides with reports that his official U.K. security could be restored: The Mail on Sunday reported on Jan. 3 that a review found he met the criteria and that a ruling was "expected to be announced within weeks." He previously lost a court battle in Feb. 2024 and had an appeal dismissed in May 2025; his lawyers have argued he "does not feel safe" bringing his children to England without taxpayer-funded security.
