Project Shadowglass channels Thief with water arrows and blackjack knockouts
A new trailer for Project Shadowglass, shown at the Future Games Show, makes the game's debt to Thief unmistakable. Earlier coverage highlighted open-ended levels with guards and traps, plus simulated 3D audio inspired by Thief's propagation tech. Starhelm Studios' footage demonstrates several stealth tools: sliding down rooftops, firing fire arrows to detonate explosive barrels, using water arrows so guards slip, and performing blackjack knockouts.
Melee looks a little more involved than in the original Thief, though the Steam page says characters still fight "sloppily," which suits a stealth-focused design. The Steam page also outlines broader systems: a planning stage involving "research" to choose when, where and how to plunder buildings, long-term consequences such as prison escapes if you are caught, and a tightening security presence as guards become aware a thief is active.
Killing people raises fear among citizens, potentially causing them to flee.
