PS5 players report screen tearing and crashes after 2XKO console launch
Kotaku reports that Riot Games released its free-to-play League of Legends fighting game 2XKO on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles yesterday after roughly 18 months of closed beta tests. The game had been available on PC in early access since October 7, 2025 and officially launched on Xbox Series S/X and PS5 on January 20.
PlayStation 5 players on the r/2XKO subreddit have reported crashes, frequent FPS drops and heavy screen tearing; the most active PS5 thread is titled 'Game runs like total ass on the ps5.' Reddit user trugay said they were not experiencing FPS drops on a PS5 Pro but called the screen tearing 'horrendous.' On Twitter, user Jfcdoomblade posted a clip of FPS drops and wrote that '2XKO on PS5 might be the roughest I’ve ever seen a fighting game launch.'
The report found no similar complaints from Xbox Series users and noted one Xbox player praising the experience. It also said screen tearing may not appear in recorded footage, and PS5 owners have theorized the issue could occur on 120Hz displays or stem from how v-sync is implemented; there is no critical consensus and no console reviews at launch.
