Quarantine Zone launches after Steam Next Fest success, adds Dead by Daylight crossover
Gamesradar reports Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has properly launched after breaking out at one of last year's Steam Next Fest events, where its demo helped it garner more than one million Steam Wishlists.
Rather than putting players in the role of a survivor or soldier, the zombie sim has you operate a military checkpoint and decide who may join the quarantined community, a design the article compares to indie title Papers, Please. The game has amassed more than 1,500 user reviews on Steam that average to a 'Mostly Positive' rating; one player wrote, "A buggy but solid concept, Quarantine Zone actively lets you play a version of the zombie apocalypse you otherwise never really see."
Yesterday the developer added a free collaboration with Dead by Daylight that introduces four survivors from that multiplayer horror game into the pool of people who might try to pass through your checkpoint; the collaboration is free for all players.
