Rachel McAdams honors Diane Keaton and Catherine O'Hara in Oscars In Memoriam
The film industry paid tribute to many of its lost voices during the 98th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater. After host Conan O’Brien introduced the In Memoriam segment, Rob Reiner was remembered by Billy Crystal and by casts of his films. Rachel McAdams then took the stage to honor actresses who died in the past year, including Diane Keaton and Catherine O’Hara.
McAdams, 47, had acted opposite Keaton in "Morning Glory" and "The Family Stone." Keaton, who won the 1978 best actress Oscar for "Annie Hall," died Oct. 11 at 79 from bacterial pneumonia. O’Hara, known for "Schitt’s Creek" and "Home Alone," died Jan. 30 at 71; it was later revealed she suffered a pulmonary embolism and she received a posthumous award at the 2026 SAG Actor Awards earlier this month.
Barbra Streisand performed "The Way We Were" in tribute to Robert Redford, who died Sept. 16 at 89. Redford also founded the Sundance Institute and Film Festival in 1981, supporting independent storytellers such as Quentin Tarantino, Chloé Zhao and Ryan Coogler.
