Rachel Zoe called Jennifer Garner first after splitting from husband

Rachel Zoe said her first call after splitting from husband Rodger Berman was to Jennifer Garner — she needed a good divorce lawyer. The fashion designer noted they have been close since she styled Garner for the 2003 Emmys. Garner recommended celebrity attorney Laura Wasser, whom she had used in her own divorce from Ben Affleck; Wasser has also worked with Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and Johnny Depp.

Zoe, who said she knew the marriage was over because she was “spending more time sad than happy,” described a turning point when she began going to events alone or with friends. “The person that I never went anywhere without, I wanted to go without,” she said. The couple announced their separation in September 2024; Zoe, 54, and Berman, 55, share sons Skyler, 14, and Kasius, 10.
