Emma Raducanu says she is on the right path for greater success in 2026 as she prepares to lead Great Britain at the United Cup in Australia. The British women's No 1 will make her United Cup debut on Sunday against Japan’s Naomi Osaka. Raducanu said her focus is on "stacking the good days" and maintaining consistent practice and enjoyment of the game.

After a turbulent start to her career, the 23-year-old had her most consistent season in 2025, remaining healthy enough to play regularly and returning to the top 30 of the WTA rankings at No 9. She began working with coach Francisco Roig in August and has added physiotherapist and strength and conditioning coach Emma Stewart to her team.

Raducanu credited improved fitness with allowing her to play more matches and build momentum through tournaments, and said she has been more composed and enjoying tennis more. The fourth United Cup will stage round-robin matches in Perth and Sydney before knockout rounds in Sydney.

The event, backed by the ATP, WTA and Tennis Australia, offers ranking points and aims to attract top players; notable entrants include Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jasmine Paolini, Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz. Great Britain’s squad also includes Billy Harris, Neal Skupski, Olivia Nicholls, Jan Choinski and Katie Swan, with Tim Henman as captain.
