Rafael Leao to decide on AC Milan contract within weeks
AC Milan are working to secure Rafael Leao on a long-term contract, with talks that began in late January led by sporting director Igli Tare and aiming for a commitment well beyond his current 2028 expiry. Leao and his family are set to listen to Milan's offer and make a decision in the next few weeks.
Financially, the club is prepared to raise his salary to €6m plus bonuses. Leao is already the highest earner in the squad after a previous renewal that quadrupled his wages, and he has scored 80 goals in the red and black shirt. There is no immediate rush to sign the paperwork; the process is moving steadily.
On the sporting side, the relationship between Leao and manager Massimiliano Allegri has strengthened over the campaign, with Allegri giving his blessing for an improved deal. Technical staff have been vocal about keeping the core of the squad intact and view the winger as indispensable to Milan's project.
