Rain World creators make a 'loud and dumb and fast' cyberpunk racer
Airframe Ultra is a multiplayer hoverbike racer from Videocult that the team says was born out of a desire to move away from the bleakness of Rain World. The developers prioritized getting players from the start menu into a race quickly, and the game is designed as a one-time purchase without battle passes, ranked ladders, or engagement tricks—just competitive systems and potential post-launch support if it succeeds.
The racing loop has an unusual twist: you can dismount your bike at any time and control your rider’s deliberately awkward, weighty movement. Races punctuate high-speed sections with wide arenas where players are expected to fight on foot, scoring points for knockouts and for winning individual legs; the highest score at the end of the course wins.
Tracks invite exploration on foot until players are mercy-teleported to the next arena, and weapons and power-ups add chaotic variety.
