Goal reports Barcelona claimed a record-extending 16th Spanish Super Cup title by defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, as Hansi Flick's side registered a fifth victory in their last six meetings with their bitter rivals.

Raphinha scored twice and Robert Lewandowski also found the net as the match produced a breathless first half. Vinicius Jr had an early chance before Raphinha missed from a Lamine Yamal through ball and then converted from Fermin Lopez's pass after 35 minutes; Vinicius then equalised with a solo effort before Lewandowski dinked home in the fourth minute of added time, only for Real to level again when Gonzalo Garcia saw an effort strike the underside of the bar and bounce over the line.

The second half was fragmented by stoppages but Barcelona regained a lead when Raphinha's 73rd-minute shot deflected off Raul Asencio. Late drama saw Frenkie de Jong sent off for a high challenge on Kylian Mbappe, who had come on from the bench, and Real's Alvaro Carreras squandered a chance by shooting straight at Garcia, as Barcelona held on to claim their first piece of silverware in 2025-26, their second successive Super Cup, and stay on course to repeat last season's domestic treble success.
