Raphinha hat-trick leads Barcelona to 5-2 win over Sevilla
Barcelona re-established a healthy lead at the top of La Liga, beating Sevilla 5-2 to move back four points clear of Real Madrid. Raphinha stole the show with a hat-trick, two penalties and a looping, deflected strike early in the second half that effectively settled the game.
The champions took the lead inside seven minutes after Joao Cancelo burst into the box and was tripped by Djibril Sow, allowing Raphinha to convert a Panenka spot-kick. Ten minutes later Cancelo again created a penalty when the ball hit the arm of Jose Carmona; Raphinha drove the second spot-kick low into the corner.
Dani Olmo added a first-half goal before Sevilla pulled one back in stoppage time through a Juanlu Sanchez cross finished by Oso. Raphinha completed his hat-trick soon after the break with a shot that looped in off a deflection, and Cancelo later cut inside to score and compound Sevilla’s woes.
