Ratcheteer DX is a faithful throwback to the handheld era of The Legend of Zelda. The top-down action-adventure began life as Ratcheteer on the Playdate, using that handheld’s crank and mostly black-and-white display to evoke the original GameBoy. Now ported to PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch, it arrives in full colour and adopts the ‘DX’ naming nod familiar from GameBoy-to-Color remakes like Link’s Awakening DX and Kirby’s Dream Land DX.

The Steam page lists 250 interconnected rooms, six dungeons, eight tools to master, a hidden alien language, six bosses and a secret boss-rush time trial, along with four graphics settings. The original 8-bit soundtrack has been upgraded to "CD-quality stereo sound."

Ratcheteer DX is available on Steam with a 25% launch discount.
