Reacher Fans Should Watch Prime's #1 Worldwide Thriller Scarpetta

Flix Patrol lists Scarpetta as the #1 show on Amazon Prime Video worldwide. Prime renewed the series for a second season after ordering two seasons at once.

Scarpetta is not an action thriller like Reacher but shares a fast-paced, procedural energy. The eight-episode first season follows Kay Scarpetta searching for a single murderer, and the cast includes Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, and Simon Baker.

The series is adapted from Patricia Cornwell's novels; her first Scarpetta book, Postmortem, was published in 1990. Cornwell has finished penning her 30th Scarpetta novel, which suggests there is ample source material for future seasons.

After the Season 1 finale, showrunner Liz Sarnoff said, "I have no plans. I’m thrilled to be making the second one now. There are so many books." She added, "I’ll do it as long as they want to do it."
