Real Madrid target PSG midfielder Vitinha to restore balance
Real Madrid have placed Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha at the top of their wishlist as they plan a midfield signing for next season. AS in Spain named the 25-year-old the 'main reference' on their list; he finished third in the 2025 Ballon d'Or after playing a central role in PSG's first-ever Champions League triumph and is being eyed as a potential next 'Galactico' to lead a new era under Alvaro Arbeloa.
The club ranks AZ Alkmaar's 20-year-old Kees Smit second and is also considering two central defenders, but Vitinha's form has made him a standout target. The midfielder is described as a player who could improve any side in the world, a reality Real are thought to recognise.
Madrid's summer thinking also includes the returns of former youth players. Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz is expected to return under a €9million buy-back clause after impressing at Cesc Fabregas' side since 2024 and earning six caps for Argentina.
