Rebecca Gayheart recalls powerful moment that moved Eric Dane before his death

Rebecca Gayheart said she and her late husband, Eric Dane, shared a "powerful moment" when he lent his voice to an ElevenLabs restoration project to create a synthetic replica. Dane "was really excited about it, because he was losing his voice, and it was becoming more difficult for him to communicate each and every day.

So it became sort of urgent," Gayheart said. "He was waiting anxiously to hear it, and when we got it from ElevenLabs it was a really big moment. It was a powerful moment. We played it, and Eric became visibly emotional," she recalled. Gayheart added that she cried and that others in the room did as well.

The project was a final effort to leave something behind for their daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14. ElevenLabs also produced a docuseries titled "11 Voices," which Dane was meant to star in with a bonus episode, but his ALS worsened and he could not appear.
