Recording of Marc Benioff's keynote omits jokes about ICE
A recording of Marc Benioff's keynote was posted on the company's internal site, but internal messages and a video excerpt show his jokes about Immigration and Customs Enforcement were removed.
The excerpt appears to show a jump cut during his introduction: the frame shifts to the audience, then Benioff appears on the opposite side of the stage.
Several employees who heard the remarks said Benioff asked people to stand if they were from outside the US and then joked that ICE agents were in the back room; they also said he complained about Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance. Executives responded, including Slack general manager Rob Seaman, who wrote in an internal Slack message: "I cannot defend or explain them. They do not align with my personal values and I know this to be the case for many of you as well."
Salesforce did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Some employees said they received an email asking them to explain their absence from the event following the remarks.
