The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, executive produced by Tina Fey and co-created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, stars Tracy Morgan as the disgraced former NFL star. The mockumentary-style sitcom also features Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander and Bobby Moynihan, and follows Reggie after he is caught gambling on his own games and hires blacklisted director Arthur Tobin (Radcliffe) to make a film that will rebuild his public image — though Tobin and Reggie often disagree about the project.

While the show echoes real sports scandals, it is not based on any actual NFL player. Carlock and Means said the idea grew out of the recent surge in sports documentaries and films, and they set out to flip that melodramatic language into a comedic mockumentary.

The creators trace the concept back to Tracy Morgan and wrote the Arthur Tobin role with Radcliffe in mind.
