Requiem director says he's been 'called out' over edited message screenshots

Koshi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil Requiem at Capom, has been fielding a stream of fan questions on social media after the game confirmed Leon Kennedy had married someone prior to its events. Online debates quickly split between Ada Wong and Claire Redfield as players tried to identify Leon’s partner.

A widely shared post seemed to show Nakanishi implying Leon and Ada are married, with alleged replies such as “Requiem doesn't make it clear, but if you've played the previous games, you should get an idea!” and an alleged “You know what I mean.” None of those exchanges are presented as definitive, and fans remain divided.

Nakanishi’s own Instagram story added confusion. He thanked people for their messages, saying, “Unfortunately, it's hard for me to reply to everyone, but they warm my heart,” and noted, “I've even gotten called out for screenshots of edited messages,” which suggests at least some of the circulating evidence may be falsified.
