Robert Kirkman wants an Invincible x Magic: The Gathering crossover
Invincible creator Robert Kirkman says he’d like to see his superhero series appear in Magic: The Gathering. “I mean, I'm interested,” Kirkman says. “If you know some people at Wizards of the Coast, we can set something.” The idea has precedent: in 2020 Wizards released a Walking Dead set that used entirely original cards rather than reprints, launching its Universes Beyond line of sets tied to non-Magic franchises.
Those crossovers have become a major part of the company’s release schedule, even as some players dislike the trend. An Invincible set would likely need to tone down the franchise’s gore, but it otherwise fits Magic’s mix of heroes, villains and alien species. The Marvel sets suggest possible mechanics: Transform could represent secret identities or characters who literally change, Sagas might cover arcs like the Invincible War and spawn tokens, and space-based rules could borrow from Edge of Eternities.
