Robert Pattinson offered an update on The Batman Part II while promoting his new film, The Drama, speaking to Deadline. He described the script as "extraordinary." The Drama co-stars Dune's Zendeya. Matt Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin spent nearly two years on the screenplay.

Script delays became a running joke among fans before the duo turned in the finished script in August last year. Pattinson declined to reveal plot details but teased that "it's going to be a really, really special movie, and very, very different," adding that "it's taking some big swings." The sequel is currently slated for an October 1, 2027 release, though filming has not yet begun; it is scheduled to start this Spring, and most are expecting that date to be pushed back.

Only Pattinson, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell are confirmed to be returning from the original film, and Scarlett Johansson has been cast in an unknown role. Some believe Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman may not return, though that has not been confirmed.
