Rodman fit, Shaw in form and big calls loom for Hayes as USWNT face Canada
The United States meet Canada in the SheBelieves Cup for the fourth time in the tournament, renewing one of the region’s longest-running rivalries. The sides have faced each other 67 times, most recently on July 2, 2025, when the U.S. won 3-0, and both teams arrive unbeaten after the opening round.
Trinity Rodman was cleared and returned to training after a scare late in the U.S. win over Argentina, but outside back Lilly Reale left camp with a foot injury and returned to Gotham FC. Rodman’s availability is a welcome boost for a backline still being sorted, while Reale’s absence forces further reshuffling at full back.
Claudia Dickey started between the posts against Argentina and handled a physical match with composure, yet the goalkeeper situation remains flexible. All three keepers in camp have limited international experience, so Emma Hayes could opt to rotate and hand a chance to Mandy McGlynn or Phallon Tullis-Joyce for the Canada game.
