ROG Flow Z13-KJP embodies Kojima Productions' approach to creation
The ROG Flow Z13-KJP is a limited-edition Asus machine made with Kojima Productions. Functionally it mirrors the regular Flow Z13 — a 13.4-inch tablet-laptop hybrid with a detachable keyboard and a built-in kickstand — but its styling is unmistakably Kojima, with sci-fi accents and black lines that don’t read as a typical PC.
At $3,700 it’s a statement piece best suited to devoted fans, yet it remains a versatile, portable gaming device. Inside the tablet sits an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 processor and a Radeon 8060S GPU. I was able to run Nioh 3 at low settings near 60 fps, despite stutters and asset pop-in, and the trial of Monster Hunter Stories 3 reached 60 fps on high settings with occasional hiccups.
Some games, like Romeo is a Dead Man, showed more severe stuttering, but the Flow Z13-KJP’s portability and ease of setup make it a convenient go-to for playing on different surfaces. Kojima Productions chose the Z13 for its detachable keyboard, kickstand and vents, aiming to make something that doesn’t look like a PC at first glance.
