Roku Channel adds six new free channels, including sports and game shows
The Roku Channel has added six new free channels to its lineup, expanding the streaming options available on Roku devices. The channel is available for free on any Roku device and comes preinstalled on most.
Three of the additions are dedicated to single shows: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the iconic game show where contestants answer increasingly difficult questions for cash prizes; My Wife & Kids, an early 2000s family sitcom starring Daymon Wayans about suburban family life; and The Virginian, a classic Western set in 1890s Wyoming.
The other three are genre-focused channels: Raza Canal, which showcases Latino culture and entertainment including music and talk shows; OverTime, offering in-depth sports analysis, highlights and behind-the-scenes sports programming; and TV Amor, a Spanish-language romance channel featuring telenovelas and dramatic love stories.
No additional apps are required to access the new channels — open the Roku Channel app and search for the channel you want. As on classic cable, the shows include ad breaks and cannot be paused or rewound. If you use a different brand of smart TV, you can download the Roku app to watch.
