Liam Rosenior said he was "impressed" by Pedro Neto’s decision to apologise after the winger pushed a ball boy during Chelsea’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. UEFA has opened an investigation for "unsporting behaviour" after the incident in the final moments at the Parc des Princes, when Neto shoved the youngster while trying to retrieve the ball for a quick restart.

The disciplinary proceedings could lead to a retrospective suspension that would add to the FA’s recent one-game ban and £70,000 fine for improper conduct following his red card against Arsenal, and might rule him out of Tuesday’s second-leg at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea's Premier League meeting with Newcastle United, Rosenior said he had seen the incident and "it doesn't look good" but understood Neto's perspective. "He wants to get the ball back in play as quickly as possible.
