Runescape has raised its monthly membership fee to $15, up from $14, and the annual subscription now costs $132, an increase from $100.

The new monthly price matches World of Warcraft’s $15 fee, and in some regions Runescape’s charge is higher than WoW’s. This is the second increase in under two years: in September 2024 the monthly rose from $12.50 to $14, while the annual plan moved from $80 to $100.

Players who signed up before September 2024 remain grandfathered into the older monthly price; all other subscribers will see the new rates on their next billing date. Jagex said the change is intended to help cover the cost of infrastructure, upgraded systems, and new content.

The blog post announcing the hike did not mention that Jagex was acquired by a private equity firm in early 2024. Overall, the annual subscription has climbed by more than $50 in the last two years, changing the service’s previous value proposition.
