Russell Martin reflected on his 123-day spell as Rangers manager and said he holds no bitterness about his October dismissal. Across 17 matches he recorded five wins, six draws and six defeats, a run that included a 9-1 aggregate loss to Club Brugge and just one league victory from seven.

"I don't regret anything," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "There's loads of frustration for me as a coach and a manager and a leader but ultimately, it's always your fault as a manager. It's my fault I didn't do well enough and you learn from it and I'll be better for it, for sure." The job took a personal toll and made the environment toxic for his family.

"I love Glasgow as a city," he said, but added the hostility had become impossible for those around him.
