Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) returned to television screens during Chicago P.D.'s latest episode, rejoining the Intelligence Unit in Season 13. Viewers have been missing Ruzek throughout Season 13 as he deals with family matters with his father, Bob (Jack Coleman).

Bob's Alzheimer's continues to worsen, and Ruzek has been showing up for his dad to help out as much as possible. Those family matters have kept him from throwing himself onto the frontlines as much as usual, but his wife Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) has been keeping his P.D.

friends in the loop. In the episode "Meant to Be," Burgess and Ruzek wake up together; Burgess asks, "How'd things go with Bob?" Ruzek replies, "He’s stable, but he didn’t know where he was at all last night, so it was pretty brutal, actually," and adds, "I think it's going to be months, not years." Burgess tells him, "You’re a good son," and Ruzek responds, "Well, he’s a good dad." Voight offers him more time off, but Ruzek says he wants to go in and missed his Intelligence Unit crew.
