Ryan Gosling Is Boldly Going in 'Project Hail Mary' Final Trailer

The final trailer for Project Hail Mary has been released online, arriving alongside the film's Super Bowl TV spot. Adapted from Andy Weir's novel, the movie stars Ryan Gosling as Doctor Ryland Grace, a scientist sent to save Earth's sun by investigating another star in the farthest reaches of space.

This last preview centers on the unusual partnership between Grace and an alien nicknamed Rocky. After early marketing drew complaints for revealing the creature's prominence, the new trailer doubles down, showing how the two learn to communicate and revealing that Rocky was sent on the same mission from his own world to stop dying suns.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller direct, marking their first film since 2014's 22 Jump Street and a return after leaving Solo: A Star Wars Story. The duo have called Project Hail Mary their biggest film, and the trailer pitches it as a colorful, ambitious adventure with a heartfelt core.
