Ryan Gosling’s Saturday Night Live monologue was upstaged when he spotted Harry Styles in the audience. Gosling opened by saying March is a great time to host SNL in New York City, then looked out and asked, "Is that Harry Styles?" The camera panned to Styles, who smiled as the crowd erupted.

Gosling asked, "What are you doing here, man?" and Styles replied, "Well, I’m hosting next week and it’s been a while, so I just wanted to watch, get a feel for it." Gosling quipped that Styles was "so professional" and joked, "I have a new movie coming out, it’s called ‘Project Harry Styles.’ Nope — it would be a good movie, though.

It’s called ‘Project Hail Mary.'" As Gosling discussed the "perspective" that making space-related films gives him, the camera returned to Styles, who was nodding. Gosling asked, "I’m sorry, why are we on Harry Styles?" Styles replied, "I don’t know, I’m just listening," and the actor added, "Well, could you listen less cool?
