Sam Altman's countersuit against his sister gets green light
A federal judge dismissed Annie Altman's lawsuit accusing her brother Sam Altman of sexual abuse as time-barred but gave her leave to refile under Missouri's Childhood Sexual Abuse law, setting an April 3 deadline. The same order allowed Sam Altman's defamation and abuse-of-process countersuit to proceed.
Annie Altman filed the suit in January 2025, alleging abuse between 1997 and 2006 that began when she was three while the siblings were growing up in Clayton, Missouri. Sam Altman has denied the allegations; in a public statement he, his two younger brothers, and their mother said Annie had "mental health issues." In his countersuit, Sam Altman says his sister fabricated the allegations and publicized them on social media and in her lawsuit after the family declined her "demands for unrestricted financial support" related to her mental health issues.
