Sam Neill Reacts to Scarlett Johansson Joining Jurassic World Rebirth

Sam Neill has offered a belated reaction to Scarlett Johansson taking over the Jurassic franchise.

Neill, who played Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg's 1993 original and returned in Jurassic Park III, also reprised the role in the 2022 legacy sequel Jurassic World Dominion. Rebirth marked a new era for the series, one headlined by Johansson.

He said he was "fond" of Johansson and that her casting felt like a "family affair," partly because the two had played a father-daughter duo in the 1990s.

Jurassic World Rebirth features Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis. The film was released July 2, 2025, has a runtime of 134 minutes, was directed by Gareth Edwards, written by David Koepp, and produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley.
