Jan3 founder Samson Mow said on X that he expects billionaire investor Elon Musk to “go hard into BTC” in 2026.

Mow’s comment was one of several bold Bitcoin predictions he made for 2026, including a forecast that Bitcoin will reach $1.33 million in 2026 — about a 1,367% rise from a current price of $90,596, according to CoinMarketCap. He also predicted that the stock price of Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) would hit $5,000 from a current price of $157, that Bitcoin will “outperform metals,” and that “at least one country” will launch a Bitcoin bond.

The prediction about Musk follows a mixed history: the source notes Musk has shown support for cryptocurrency but raised environmental concerns, and Tesla stopped taking Bitcoin payments in May 2021 and sold 75% of its Bitcoin holdings in July 2022. Mow previously told Magazine in June 2025 that Bitcoin may reach $1 million in 2025 or, if not, 2026, saying “[It] is a given at this point, maybe this year, maybe next year.”

Other industry figures are more conservative. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said he expects an upward trend but “nothing extraordinary,” and the article notes several high-profile predictions for 2025 did not materialize. Mow responded to an X user about his 2025 predictions by saying, “Let’s not dwell on the past” and “Never look back. Only forward.”
