Samsung will release two budget devices in the US next month: the Galaxy A17 5G, starting at $199 and available January 7, and the Galaxy Tab A11+, retailing for $250 and arriving January 8.

The Galaxy A17 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and uses the Exynos 1330 chip. Its camera setup remains the same as last year’s model with a 50MP main sensor, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 13MP selfie lens. The base configuration has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB, and it packs a 5,000mAh battery with fast-charging.

Samsung describes the A17 as an incremental update that continues the product line’s reputation for decent, affordable phones; the company expects it could be a contender in budget Android phone roundups next year.

The Galaxy Tab A11+ offers an 11-inch LCD, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Storage and memory options include 6GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB, with microSD expansion. The tablet’s battery supports up to 15 hours of video playback and fast-charging, positioning it as a straightforward, no-frills option in the entry-level tablet space.
