Nytimes reports that the television anchor Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted an emotional video saying they are ready to listen to ransom offers for their missing mother, Nancy, but that the family would first need proof that she is alive. Nancy Guthrie was last seen after her son-in-law dropped her off at her home near Tucson and did not show up for church the next morning, prompting a large search.

The family and police said she is mentally sharp but has trouble moving and requires daily medication; "She needs it to survive," Savannah Guthrie said in the video. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators have no suspects and do not know how many people might have been involved.

Officials said they found concerning evidence at the home, have begun receiving forensic results that so far have not produced leads, and have received ransom-style notes that were forwarded to authorities; the F.B.I. has been conducting interviews and reviewing cellphone data.
