Savannah Guthrie pleads for help finding missing mother as ransom deadline nears
Savannah Guthrie pleaded on Instagram for the public’s help locating her mother, Nancy Guthrie, more than a week after the Arizona woman was taken. In an emotional video the “Today” host thanked people for the “love” and “prayers” and said, “We believe that somehow, someway, she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place.” A local Tucson outlet says the kidnappers are requesting $6 million in bitcoin for Nancy’s return as a second ransom deadline approaches at 5 p.m.

Over the weekend Savannah and her siblings offered to pay in a video: “We received your message and we understand,” she said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.” She urged people not just for “[their] prayers” but to watch for anything suspicious, even far from Tucson, adding, “We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.” Nancy was last seen on Jan.
