YouTube TV now offers a dozen cheaper subscription plans that let you pay only for the channels you actually watch. The full-access plan is currently $83 a month. The options focus on sports, entertainment or news and trim monthly costs by roughly $5 to $20. You still get YouTube TV benefits such as unlimited DVR and multiview, and first-time subscribers receive a small discount on each plan.

This announcement follows YouTube's rollout of Premium Lite, a cheaper tier that offers ad-free viewing, background play and the ability to download videos. Key tiers include the Sports Plan ($65/month), which covers major broadcasters, sports networks like FS1 and NBC Sports Network, all ESPN networks and ESPN Unlimited, a new service coming this fall that covers WWE, SEC, ACC and Big 12 football and basketball, plus postseason events and studio shows.

The Sports + News Plan ($72/month) adds national news networks including CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, Bloomberg and Fox Business.
