Second StarCraft revival reportedly in development at Nexon
Nexon appears to be working on a new StarCraft entry that is separate from the long-rumored shooter said to be in development at Blizzard.
A machine translation of a dnews report suggests development has begun at Nexon; the company is recruiting key developers and has its lead in Choi Jun-ho.
Jun-ho is described as the modder behind a popular StarCraft map known as "Shinpu", though there is little reference to the map on the English-language web. The project is reportedly being developed at Nexon's studio behind Sudden Attack, a free-to-play FPS series, and the game's genre remains unclear.
Blizzard has been teasing news for its major franchises this year, but StarCraft was absent from the announced festivities. If two new StarCraft games are indeed in development, RTS fans may have renewed hope, even if both projects seem unlikely to be traditional RTS titles.
