Security footage offers new clue in Nancy Guthrie disappearance
Authorities investigating the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie say doorbell camera footage may have revealed a pinky ring on the suspected abductor’s hand beneath a glove. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News, “I look at the same photo you look at [of the person seemingly tampering with Guthrie’s Ring camera], and I get it.
I see it.” He added, “I’m going to give that to my team. They’ll look at that. They’ll analyze it and we’ll see. Maybe it is [a ring].” Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home and was last seen on Jan. 31. Investigators also recovered a glove matching the one worn by the suspect about two miles from Guthrie’s residence, but DNA on the glove produced no hits in the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System.
The glove, initially tested in Florida and retested in Arizona, returned no matches. Nanos said the DNA found at the property “is being analyzed & further testing needs to be done,” and later said the material does not belong to anyone “close” to Nancy.
