See-Saw Films to Reimagine Ian McShane’s 'Lovejoy'
Premiering in 2022, Apple TV’s Slow Horses has become a streaming standout. Based on Mick Herron’s novels, the series stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the cynical head of Slough House for disgraced MI5 agents, and has tallied five seasons, two Primetime Emmy Awards and a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show is produced by See‑Saw Films, and that company has now landed the rights to adapt the Lovejoy novels by John Grant writing as Jonathan Gash. The Lovejoy books were previously adapted by the BBC in the 1980s and 1990s, led by Ian McShane and running 70 episodes across six seasons.
That version also featured Chris Jury, Dudley Sutton, Phyllis Logan and Celia Imrie; it has not been announced whether McShane or any other original cast members will return for the new adaptation.
